Un conflit résolu par cannibalisme. Afin d’optimiser leur succès reproductif global, les ouvrières de la fourmi d’Argentine Linepithema humile sont amenées à réduire le nombre élevé de mâles. Pour cela, elles cannibalisent les larves mâles. Le cliché représente cinq larves mâles dont deux ont été attaquées par des ouvrières (cliché L. Passera).
