Content and Audiences
médecine/sciences (m/s) is an international French-language monthly journal dedicated to the dissemination of scientific and medical knowledge.
The journal offers its readers a wide variety of texts on advancements in national and international research. It is composed of six sections:
- The Magazine, featuring News that reflects current scientific events.
- The Reviews section, comprising Syntheses, in-depth articles that provide an overview of a scientific issue, written by specialist authors in the field.
- The Benchmarks section, which includes a variety of texts on the history of science, humanities and social sciences, public health, facts and figures, as well as technical dossiers.
- The Forum, featuring reflective articles on topics that are the subject of debate within the scientific community, regular columns by authors selected by the editorial team (such as columns on genomics, paleogenomics, and natural history), and reviews of scientific works.
- The Words of Science, a sort of glossary consisting of short texts aimed at explaining a term used in biology, medicine, or humanities and social sciences.
- The Our Young Talents section (Nos jeunes pousses ont du talent), containing News articles written by students and presented by Master 2 and doctoral school teachers. This series is coordinated by Claire Deligne.
Additionally, m/s publishes at least one to two thematic issues per year, as well as thematic series consisting of articles appearing across several issues.
The issues of m/s are available on the médecine/sciences website, and the complete archives from 1985 to 2010 are available on the site www.ipubli.inserm.fr.
